As a dedicated architect, Magdalena Rozanska strongly believes in retrofitting, making old buildings energy efficient and adapting them to modern energy standards. She has been coordinating the MeeFS project, which started in 2012, and aimed at developing an innovative multifunctional and energy efficient façade system. She sums up the achievements so far.

The MeeFS project, coming to an end on 31st of December 2016, aimed to develop, evaluate and demonstrate an innovative energy efficient multifunctional façade system for retrofitting geared towards the residential building sector. The innovative concept applies multifunctional panels and technological modules, as well as composite façade structure materials, all easily integrated in the façade for building envelope retrofitting.

The European Commission released on 30 November a new package of measures designed to keep the European Union competitive as the clean energy transition changes global energy markets. The "Clean Energy for All Europeans" legislative package includes nine legislative proposals along with seven non-legislative communications and reports, in which the EU commits to cut CO2 emissions by at least 40% by 2030, and sets a target of at least 27% of all energy consumed to come from renewable sources.

World Sustainable Energy Days 2017 (WSED)
The World Sustainable Energy Days 2017 conference and trade show and will take place from 1 - 3 March 2017 in Wels/Austria. 7th ECTP Conference - Innovative Built Environment
The 7th ECTP open conference will take place on 17-18 November in Brussels. and will be dedicated to the topic of current and anticipated innovation in the built environment field. Plenary sessions with high-level speakers from academia, industry and the European Commission will introduce the global scheme and visions from various stakeholders. Meanwhile, thematic parallel sessions will address diverse specific issues under the five current challenges of the ECTP. A hall for booths and posters will exhibit examples of innovation expected from European projects.

'Pre-fabricated building solutions – highlights from the MeeFS project' - Final event and networking reception
This mini conference will take place on 16 November 2016 in Brussels and will mark the end of the EU-funded MeeFS (Multifunctional Energy Efficient Facade System for Building Retrofitting) project, which was launched in January 2012. MeeFS set out to develop an innovative, energy efficient, multifunctional façade system for retrofitting, geared towards the residential building sector across Europe.
